Sons of Malarkey is a five-piece Celtic rock band from Portland, Oregon. The band started in 2009 when singer/songwriter Josh Curll, bassist Jereb Scott, and multi-instrumentalist Jason Hohl began performing Celtic music in and around Portland.
In an effort to rock out a bit, the guys asked their old friend Dave Battrick to join them on drums. Shortly thereafter, the band added Tatijanna “Don’t call it a violin” Bourke on fiddle, and veteran musician Dan Edgar on accordion, bouzouki, mandolin, and tech support.

Early in 2013, Jereb accepted a new job in Southern California, so the band called on another old friend, Phil Weber, to step in on bass. The current lineup is Josh, Tatijanna, Dan, Dave, and Phil.
Sons of Malarkey perform regularly at such popular venues as Dublin Pub and Mississippi Pizza in Portland, as well as at Celtic music festivals throughout the Northwest, such as the Newport Celtic Festival and the Galway Bay Irish Music Festival in Ocean Shores, Washington. They consistently rank among the Top 10 Celtic bands in Oregon at reverbnation.com.
The band has released two studio albums: Their debut album, “Presenting Sons of Malarkey”, was released in 2011. In 2013, the band released a six-track EP, "Chapter".
