Stella Peach is a lovely young lady from Montana and A Mixtape for the Honeybees is an ultra low-fi concept album about bees n’ all. All the tracks were recorded in Stella’s gaff so the sound is raw and basic but this suits the soundscape perfectly.
The music is informed to an extent by indie folk lads like Andrew Bird and Tori Amos at her nuts best. However, in terms of originality and sheer brazenness the most obvious comparison is with the early albums of adorably underappreciated Scout Niblett.
