Stereofix are an American rock band now known as Ceasefire that was formed in Orange County, California. Stereofix gained prominence with their arresting vocal melodies and crafted guitar hooks, which are described as combined music styles from new-wave 80’s and 90’s with modern music. They are a band that constantly embraces new elements into their musical repertoire with every new project.
The group formed beginning with Ray Alexander (vocals) who started a rock band called The Spun. Ray’s brother Kamren Alexander who played guitar added a new level of sound to the duo. The duo quickly created a buzz playing the local Orange County and Los Angeles circuit starting out at Ian Copeland’s club, owner of the Backstage Café and one of music’s top agents. Mark Allan enthusiastically filled the bass guitar void. They didn’t waste any time getting into the studio. After a few months and plenty of interesting auditions, Anthony Hainsworth joined the group to complete their sound with drums. With each of the four members of Stereofix adding their unique and creative sounds, the band is becoming more celebrated and sought after by the day. Stereofix continues to pursue their award-winning craft and sound through rigorous daily sessions in the studio.
In the Summer of 2009 Stereofix went into the studio again to record their latest EP “The Warning Sign” which was recorded at Firehouse Studios and mixed by Mark Needham whose client list includes My Chemical Romance, The Killers, and more. The band also worked with Joe Zook whose works include One Republic, Modest Mouse, and many others. The EP was released and is spreading with audiences, colleges, and fans all over the world. The band took home the win for Best Alternative at the 2010 Orange County Music Awards.
With 40- songs in their arsenal of music, Stereofix is stunning audiences and growing popularity nationwide by continually connecting with groups of all ages, creating the most memorable and exciting show experience. Stereofix is being featured on various MTV, VH1, and E! soundtracks including The Hills, The City, The Real World-Cancun, and many more
