1. Sterling is a Danish indie rock band, that combine sometimes quirky, sometimes serious lyrics, with catchy pop/rock tunes. It is innovative pop music sprinkled with guitars and synth sounds of yesteryear. Sterling is the first band signed to the danish label Crunchy Frog with strictly Danish lyrics. The music is gifted with a playful and poetic stance towards both their native language and the backlogs of rock - in the field between Beach Boys, Pixies and Danish band Kliché. They have currently released two albums, Solo Danser Mama Sjus and Yndigt Land, and one EP, Estadio Camp-Let. The bands latest album, Yndigt Land, came out the 30th October 2006. An english version of the album with the title 'Celebrations' was released in November 2008. Due to its release the band changed their name to Sterling International.
2. Blending elements of post rock, noise, metal, avant garde, prog and ambient, Sterling is a dark and moody instrumental band with strong links to the Chicago noise rock scene. Their first album, Murderer - originally released on the defunct Swey Records and now found digitally on File 13 records (www.file-13.com) - was extremely well received by the few who discovered it. It set the blueprint for their sound, at once brooding, dissonant and sinister, with the occasional layer of jarring piano cutting through the dual guitar interplay. Their self-titled second album continued to mine the same rich vein of atmospheric moodiness, building on Jim DelFosse's carefully constructed guitar and grand piano compositions, Eric Chaleff's fluid and brooding guitar lines, and the drum work of Tony Lazzara [Atombombpocketknife, ex A-Set], that flows from bombastic and crushing to whispering and fragile. Bass duties have been filled by a number of scene stalwarts including Milemarker's Al Burian, 90 Day Men's Robert Lowe and Craig Ackerman of Lustre King and Abilene. The group reformed around 2006 with Al Burian back on bass, Eric Chaleff on guitar, Andor Destructor and Seve Art on keyboards and Tony Lazzara on drums. A third album called Cursed is now available on File-13 records.
3. Sterling is a British band that rose from the ashes of the band Peach. After losing singer Simon Oakes, bassist Justin Chancellor, and Rob Havis (essentially the entire band but Ben Durling), Peach changed its name to Sterling. The lineup then consisted of Ben Durling and Rod Sterling, In 1997 they released their sole album, titled Monster Lingo.
4. Sterling is an emo band from El Dorado County, California.
5. Sterling is a now defunct Pop/Rock band from Tyler, TX. Known for their energetic shows and their powerful lyrics, most of the members have now moved onto Tyler band The Rad.
