Stripmall Ballads is the conceptual solo-project headed by Phillips Saylor Wisor, formerly the front man of the old-time revival band The Shiftless Rounders. He fuses old-time roots and rock melodies and technique with contemporary, beat-like lyrics. The album "Since Jimmy Died" is a DIY recording, and is the second album. The first one was "13 Songs". He as a new album that will be released in 2009, called "Hooked" which features Samantha Parton (formerly of the Be Good Tanyas) and Jolli Holland.

"Hooked" is an account of time spent with the multiple personalities of a Washington, DC junkie, and it's acute portrayal of the modern issues facing urban areas is an example of Stripmall's socio-political lyrical interest.
