There are at least six artists with the name Tether. In the order of track plays (last.fm - soundcloud), they are:
1. A Danish electro-industrial/electronic artist (active from around April 2006 to present)
2. An indie rock band from Manila, Philippines (active from 2005 to present)
3. An Australian dubstep-industrial artist (active around August 2010)
4. An American musical project (active from around March 2013 to February 2014)
5. A Canadian hard rock/metal band (active from July 2013 to present)
6. An Australian rock-pop band (active from around June 2006 to present)
1. Tether, an electro-industrial/electronic/techno/IDM/noise project from Copenhagen, Denmark by Christian Dannie Storgaard. The first tracks from Tether appeared in demo circulation in 2006, containing many of the tracks that later appeared on the first release from Tether, the 2007 debut album "2^ - Offering", providing a mix of 90's industrial and quirky ambient surfaces, compared to the likes of Velvet Acid Christ, Noisuf-X and Combichrist. The name was chosen as an opposite to the sound of the previous moniker "untied" and due to the music being produced using Linux, which was first used by NASA during the STS-75 mission - the mission was to carry the "Tethered Satellite System Reflight" into orbit.
Tether released his second album as a companion to the first, titled "2^ - Absolution" in 2008. This album was more experimental in style and blended old-school electro-industrial, noise, breakbeat and IDM into something that he felt had both a new sound as well as firm roots in the industrial genre. This album was well received but was not a commercial success.
Tether released an EP in the style of early 90's industrial, "A Beat Apart" in August 2013 and has since been releasing individual tracks and investigating members for a live setup.

3. Tether, a musical project of s.klein that has released one album so far, the 2010 release "sines". s.klein describes the project as "exploring dirty minimal dubs, analogue dysfunctions and sub-bass worship." (s.klein's sludge noise project HALO, glitchy dub electro project Terminal Sound System, shoegaze psych A Beautiful Machine)
It's unclear whether s.klein still uses the name "Tether" as there has been no updates on the project since the original release and its web site is no longer operational. Since the 2010, he has released new tracks using the name Terminal Sound System instead.

5. Tether is a 5-piece band originating from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Their music is a mix of hard rock and metal with elements of punk, consisting of heavy riffs, melodic passages, fast rhythms and wicked solos, but without missing out on catchy, energetic choruses. Their major musical influences include (but are not limited to) Avenged Sevenfold, Protest The Hero, Three Days Grace, and Rise Against. They've been gigging around Southern Ontario since July 2013, having shared the stage with bands such as Eyes Set To Kill (Century Media Records), Wednesday 13 (Wednesday 13 Records), I Am King (Rise/Velocity Records), Skull Fist (NoiseArt Records), Castle (Prosthetic Records), The Mahones (Whiskey Devil Records), Hookers & Blow (Dizzy Reed of Guns and Roses and Alex Grossi of Quiet Riot), Mirrelia and Red Handed Denial. Their debut EP, titled 'Shattered,' which was in part crowd-funded by their fan base ($2000 in Indiegogo and cash contributions) was released in September 2014.
