The Arkhams are a three-piece rock n roll band from Queens, NYC, favoring music ending in the suffix "-abilly", Not just another psychobilly band, not just another rockabilly band, they play music like you've never heard (except for the covers, some of which some of you may have heard.), while still respecting your good taste. The Arkhams have a sound that blends all their influences together, yet keeps a coherent, consistent, characteristic, signature sound. With the name "Arkham" being a reference to a town made infamous in H.P. Lovecraft lore (and simultaneously an asylum in Batman comics, that itself being a tip of the hat to Lovecraft), it's no surprise that the songs have recurring themes of insanity. The Arkhams thrive on their musical (and personal) eccentricity, while nodding to those whom have influenced them. A live set is a sharp shock, with most songs connected to the next, relenting few times between songs for slow songs or quick breathers and then onto the next aural assault. Formed in 2006 as a side project (and has subsequently surpassed side project status), the Arkhams have already shared stages with the Meteors, The Nekromantix,Zombie Ghost Train, The Kings of Nuthin', Three Blue Teardrops, the Koffin Kats, the Chop Tops, the Scofflaws, The Aggrolites, Sasquatch & the Sick-a-Billys, Al & the Black Cats, to name a few, with more to come. While the Arkhams may be a relatively new band, the members are not new on the scene. Matt the Knife, Seanzi Dirtbag, and Bobcat are well-seasoned local recurring characters, whom you may recognize from some other bands they are currently in, or have been in, in the past. (Lady Anne & the Invaders, the Black Market Band, Bamboula, the Meathookers, Crankenstein, Hobo, the Devil Spades, American Noise, NY Wrecks, the Slanderin'(for a few shows, anyway). On an added "note" Matt the Knife was also the winner of the 2007 Heavy Rebel Weekender Upright Bass Slapdown. The first CD "Live at the Continental NYC" is no longer available, but the Studio Full-Length debut, "ROAD TO ARKHAM" is AVAILABLE NOW!!!
