2) The Disappointments were a melodic, edgy pop-punk band from Missoula, MT. Guitarist,Zack White and bassist, Ed Kaufmann found drummer, Dan Ries to make the three-piece version of the band in the fall of 1997. The addition of guitarist, Richie Rowe in the fall of 1999 sealed the sound of The Disappointments. The Band broke up in the fall of 2002 after recording 4 different albums and touring the Northwest.
Highlights: The Disappointments performed in Bozeman, MT at the 2000 and 2001 Warped Tour shows; had 2 songs from "Dog Meets Girl" on 21 spins/week on 94.7fm, The Blaze; had 3 songs from "Dog Meets Girl" on the soundtrack of an extreme skiing/snowboarding movie, "Montana Winter".
3) The Disappointments were also a band that played in Buffalo, NY in the late 90s and early 2000's. They released one CD that I am aware of, "In A Bitter Mood" that sounded a lot like Elvis Costello meets the Knack. Original Drummer Mike "Bunny" McColl left the power trio in 2001 to move to New Mexico and began recording under the moniker "Birdman". Not sure what happened to the rest of the band.
4) The Disappointments are a ten piece 'rock and roll orchestra' hailing from Melbourne, Australia. Forming initially in 1996 as a musical support for a female Elvis impersonator, the band now comprises a four-piece horn section, violin, piano, bass, drums, guitar, stunning vocals and pretty much anything they can get their hands on.
Stylistically they are a bit all over the place. Their songs can range anywhere from jazz to klezmer to rock to oom-pah. One of their members is Kiernan Box, who is also Keyboardist for a similarly anachronistic seeming band, Augie March.
5) The Disappointments is also the name of a short lived ska band from Eureka, California. Playing together from 2003 to early 2005 the band was one of the few last ska bands of the area, playing a lot of songs based around the small rural town they were from.
6) A presently active punk rock band from Trenton, New Jersey. Side project of Angel from the band Freedoom
