In a time when it seems so easy to feel detached from reality, The Letters Home are returning to their roots. In their debut EP, Warm Ink (released May 14, 2013), the trio from Los Angeles set out to uncover a sound that is raw and close to the heart.
Heavily influenced by soul, funk, and rock, Andrew Monheim (Vocals/Keys), Joe DeCicco (Guitar) and Mike Gattshall(Drums) have set fire to the traditional genres to create a direct connection with their listener.

Prior to The Letters Home, Monheim recorded and produced music for DeCicco’s solo project, Operator Error (OE). The pair met in Arizona and then moved to Los Angeles in 2007 where they set out to create dance and acoustic music for their friends.
When he wasn’t working with DeCicco, Monheim began writing songs and poetry of his own. When events in the news began mirroring ones in his life, he was inspired to take a new approach in his writing. Instead of writing from his own voice, he began crafting a songwriting style using detailed stories of people who have been lost in history – people who would otherwise remain voiceless.
After Mike Gattshall was added in 2011, he and DeCicco began adding "The Dirty" to Monheim's soulful piano ballads and poetry. The Letters Home quickly developed their uninhibited and original sound, which they describe as, "Dirty Soul Rock". Through their driving rock riffs, powerful soul styled vocals, and melodic drumming, they pack their live performances with incredible energy and passion. “It ain’t a concert until we’re sweating”, Monheim jokes about their live shows.
Between their musicianship and engineering skills (that all three members possess), they have tailored their sound to exactly how they want it presented. Produced by Monheim, their debut EP, Warm Ink, is a gritty journey through rock and soul guided by melancholic vocals and stories from the past.
