The Pentacles were scientists. Jeff Halley, Colin Brown and Chris Rae met when they were studying biology at UC Berkeley. Henry Jones was never a scientist but now he's a journalist. Henry was a bass player but now he plays keys. Jack Kodros currently plays bass and pretends to study physics at Berkeley.The Pentacles let things happen naturally. They don't try to sound like anything in particular.

Henry was a bass player but now he plays keys. Jack Kodros currently plays bass and pretends to study physics at Berkeley.The Pentacles let things happen naturally. They don't try to sound like anything in particular. Everyone in the band listens to everything. Their hope is that their sound will be a natural recombination of all of the different music that their brains have been marinating in over the years. When you listen to the Pentacles you can tell that they listened to a lot of 60's and 70's rock and roll with a healthy dose of 90's radio and indie rock. You might also be able to tell that they're a little bit into old country and soul. There's probably some other stuff in there too maybe a little bit of rap, maybe a little bit of gospel and maybe a little bit of Selene Dion. It doesn't really matter; it sounds really good and you will really like it.
