The original line-up included vocalist Magnus Ekwall, guitarist Christian Carlsson, drummer George Atlagic, keyboardist Anders Haglund, and bassist Peter Holm. Over the years, the band has undergone several line-up changes, particularly in the bass position. Anders Haglund left the band in 1997, after which the group continued as a four-piece. Robert Triches is the current bassist.
The Quill has toured extensively, performing at various festivals across Sweden and Europe. Notable appearances include multiple performances at the Sweden Rock Festival, where they shared the stage with acts such as Deep Purple, Motorhead, Captain Beyond, Whitesnake, and Dio. They have also supported bands like Monster Magnet and Glucifer on European tours.
Magnus Ekwall has additionally contributed vocals to the Ayreon project, appearing on the album "The Human Equation".
