The Trophy Fire is three piece American rock band from San Francisco California. The group has released two full length records and has toured most notably with the bands Far, The Dear Hunter as well as multiple tours with Dredg, in which The Trophy Fire's principle singer/songwriter Ben Flanagan is often the additional touring guitar player and back up vocalist.
The Trophy Fire began as a recording project in 2008 while Flanagan was in-between tours with his former band The Actual who were signed to Scott Weiland's Softdrive Records. After signing to SF label Talking House Records Flanagan recorded with his former bandmate Jamie McGoldrick who would also write and play guitar and bass on the album. The duo named the project The Trophy Fire and released their debut record "A Lifetime in the Middle of the Ocean" in August of 2008.
In 2010 Flanagan enlisted brothers John and Adam Schuman to join the group and they then became a fully functioning touring band.
After Talking House records folded the same year the group signed with Greyday Records who would re-release "A Lifetime in the middle of the Ocean" as well as a six song EP called "Armor".
In October of 2011 the band released their second full length record entitled "Modern Hearts."
The Trophy Fire has continuously collaborated with their influences Dredg and Far.
Gavin Hayes, Dredg vocalist sang on The Trophy Fire's song "Armor" on the EP of the same name and Flanagan sang on Dredg's song "Pariah" from their 2010 record "The Pariah, the Parrot, and the Delusion".
The band has also been joined on stage by Far/ Crosses drummer Chris Robyn and in September 2012 The Trophy Fire backed up Far singer Jonah Matranga at legendary San Francisco club Bottom of the Hill as he played songs from over the course his career.
The Trophy Fire's cover of "Come Sail Away" originally by Styx was used in the MTV Nitro Circus 3D film which was released in August 2012.
The Trophy Fire is currently in the studio finishing their follow up to Modern Hearts slated for release in 2013 and of which has not yet been named.
