Top Hat's debut release, Sampler 1.0, takes cuts from the band's next four albums. Scaramouche will be the band's first real album, a minimalistic blend of pulsating gothic anthems & mournful piano - string ballads. This will be followed by Medical Kit (for a sick society), which will pay homage to the group's techno roots by wrapping house, breakcore and glitch tracks around lyrical discussions on the nature of technology and its influence over human evolution. Next comes Deutschland (where we all go to die), a cacophonous affront to good taste, which will explore the topics of nihilism, rebellion and violence through the aesthetic lense of neofascism. Finally, Fin Amour (a distinctly more romantic endeavour) will be a classy mix of jazz, swing and bebop, with the overarching theme of true love gone awry.
