The group combines creative compositions with a heavy emphasis on improvisation and a proclivity to groove. The most recent collaboration includes DJ Papercuts, from Portland's own live hip hop group, Quivah. Trio Subtonic released their first full length CD, "The Aqueous," July 19th, which features DJ Papercuts on several tracks. "The Aqueous" also includes a track featuring Sonja Myklebust on Cello.
