Herrera is currently working alongside Bremerton locals, The Rocky Point All-Stars, and the new music is the flipside of MXPX's distinctive punk rock sound. Reminiscent of country greats such as Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Bill Monroe, Herrera can cry in his beer and sing the blues with the best of them.
"This is the record I've wanted to make for a long time now. It's also a first for me. My first solo album, my first country album, and I'm even producing and engineering all by my lonesome," Herrera tells us. "I've been writing country songs since around 1998 and I'm finally in the studio recording some of the songs."
Herrera's country music project may have been a long time coming but it's definitely worth the wait. The record is still in the very early stages and there is no current release date. Check here for performance dates and for news on Tumbledown's much anticipated first release.
