Born in 1946 Violaine Pilzer grew up in Neuilly-sur-Seine in the north western suburbs of Paris.
The younger half-sister of Christine Pilzer (they had different fathers), in 1966 Violaine was offered a recording contract on 'Riviera' by label boss Eddie Barclay.
Sponsored by the Ford motor company, Violaine released two four-track EPs, 'Cessez laguerre' (the title track referring to the supposed feud between singers Antoine and Johnny Hallyday) and 'Adieu l'amite' but both failed to chart.
