"From the ashes of Those Dancing Days rise these two Swedish post punk poppettes"
The background: "I know it's out there!" goes the arresting refrain to Vision Kicks, the debut single from Vulkano. And when they get the balance right, as Depeche Mode once said, they combine the chilling with the commercial, even if they sound less like the Mode than they do Clare Grogan squawking and yelping over the Cure's A Forest.

"Erupting from the wake of the Swedish wonder band Those Dancing Days, Vulkano is the dark wild side of Cissi Efraimsson's, Lisa Pyk Wirström and Rebecka Rolfart's songwriting. Vulkano is an outbursting trio pushing punk forward in their own charming way while still maintaining a pop sensibility with catchy riffs and lyrics. It's uncompromising, extrovert and maximalist."
