The finale of The American West's awesome series of shows at McMenamins Al's Den & Ringlers Annex this May. This amazing group of musicians spanning Americana, psychedelic, soul, folk and rock n' roll, is bound to make you laugh, dance and cry with both sorrow and happiness. The American West just returned from a European tour, Dead Men Talking just added a new organ player and Mike Coykendall is incredible. Don't miss this line up, it's free! The American West ~ A Portland-based indie-Americana act that is led by singer/songwriter Matthew Zeltzer. The act comprises a core of Zeltzer and singer/violinist Maria Maita-Keppeler. http://matthewzeltzer.wix.com/theamericanwest Mike Coykendall (Official) ~ An incredible songwriter who has also produced albums by M. Ward, Bright Eyes, and She & Him. His newest record, "Half Past, Present Pending" on Fluff & Gravy Records, captures his live sound - pure stripped-down dystopian, psychedelic garage-pop. http://www.mikecoykendall.com/ Dead Men Talking ~ A hardworking, self-produced indie-soul band. Their self titled EP, evokes Dr. Dog and Spoon. Frontman Corey Distler has been a part of many projects (Zinnie for Short, The Martyrs, The Sun-birds), but this project has seen him blossom as a creative force to be reckoned with. http://www.deadmentalkingtheband.com/ Make sure to check out the other great shows during The American West's week-long residency at Al's Den!
