When The Future Was Now! EP2 will emphasize the mod styles and heady themes of films like 2001, Fahrenheit 451 & Alphaville. Witness a perfect storm of psychedelic exploration from three of Portland’s headiest bands, with the additional presence of author and performer John Shirley, credited by William Gibson as “cyberpunk’s patient zero” in addition to winning the Bram Stoker Award, co-authoring The Crow, writing lyrics for Blue Oyster Cult and filling the roster of Celluloid Records with his band Obsession in the early 80’s, not to mention his role as a founding member of the Portland punk scene with his bands Sado-Nation, The Monitors and Terror Wrist. The Doomies, Quiet! featuring John Shirley, and Galaxy Research (Eternal Tapestry, Plankton Wat) are scheduled to perform, with oil lamp projections by Eli Savage. *Free to those dressed as astronauts, Russian spies, psychonauts, space hippies or star children!
