Hauksness snapped a photoset!
foreclosure house 2511 Se 52Nd Portland, OR
TriMet maps will load in a new window.
Wow! That sucked!
holy balls, what the shit happened? Those pics looks like that old anti-flag song about Spazs' house.[View the photoset posted by Bad Times]
People didn't read the flyer whee it said "be respectful." The word was this was an eviction party, so violence to the house was expected. Lots of window breaking and walls being ripped apart. I spent most of my time outside wondering if I was ever going to see any bands. I didn't. Some leather punks got carried away and broke a gas line. I assume it was in the kitchen because the kitchen stunk. By the time one of the dudes that lived there tried to stop the madness the leather punks decided they'd turn their violence towards him, punching him in the face a number of times. They even pushed the poor kid out of a window. Totally lame. Never seen anything so stupid at a house show. What a bad couple of weeks for house shows. Are Portland house shows dying?
the punks want to bring violence?? then bring street justice. people don't get away with this shit outside of portland. don't be passive. don't kill anybody...
fuck this, this makes at least three super shitty things in one week. We don't need this
Detailed Pictures of the House and Last Night Here!http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=225368&id=694241163&ref=mfThese are photos from last night, and what the house looks like. I own the house next door, been living in punk houses and having shows for 15 years from growing up in the NYC scene to here to oly, and I've never seen this much dick baggery. I have literally been to condemned house parties to destroy homes and they weren't this gnarly! Some of the dudes who live there were out, and came home to this. They were still going to live there for another month. They were also robbed of electronics on top of this, and the dog that lives there is confined to the only room that doesn't have broken glass on the floor. The kid with the cut up face was trying to stop whoever did this and got the shit beat out of him. Anyone know any leads? I heard from some friends there was a band called white woman that was texting people the were gonna trash the place and it was some kid Matt's last night in town. This is my block so it's my home, I take this very, very seriously.
Holyhell Carli. Those pictures are crazy ridiculous, Bad Times' photoset doesn't begin to illustrate how fucked that house is. This makes me really sad on so many levels. This is Clockwork Orange fucked up. This story is terrible and I hope the people responsible end up in jail
Oh man. Thanks for posting those photos. That was such a fucking waste of a night.
Just to set the record straight, Matt from White Woman was setting up his gear next to me as I was playing drums during the entire wave of destruction. We were the third and final band to play .When I went downstairs to start our set, the atmosphere upstairs was packed and a bit tense but nothing was destroyed (other than previous basement destruction from two weeks prior). When our set finished, the hundred or so kids in the basement had disappeared and the house looked like it had been shelled by fucking taggers with IED's. Horrible, despicable shit. I've got pictures of the aftermath that I took today, Channel 2 was just showing up as I was leaving. Portland house shows are not going to last long if this shit keeps going down and it is up to every last one of us to be vigilant and make sure this shit doesn't happen in the future. It baffles me that Christian was able to get so fucked up and his house so trashed without anyone at least trying to stop it. If this was Oakland they would have been dead. Not figuratively, fucking literally.
Word. I talked to the kids and they said it was some poser leather punks in bullet belts. Maybe they should go back to their parents house in lake oswego and pull this shit, and not fuck up the poor local neighborhoods trying to build up for our families. I probably grew up with half the kids on their butt flaps, and I know they would think it was despicable. I overheard some kids at Los Gorditos festival today laughing about it and it sooo pissed me off. What the fuck is being punk to you, looking out for each other, making music happen for all ages and for free (thanks to the first bands BTW), building a rad community? or being a fashion statement douchbag and trashing poor kids stuff... go brand TR on your ankle, listen to some earth crises and shoot yourself. Also the pizza graffiti dude sucks. I have to look at that stupid shit now. When I find him I'm gonna drag him over by his ear and make him scrub that shit off.I'm sure it wasn't that matt kid from White Woman, but he was texting people to come out and break shit... I had a bunch of people write me about it on FB when I posted those pics. Kinda ironic huh?
matt of white woman was not that cause. he just wanted his band to play. the people who started, did the majority and beat christian up where the ridiculous leather belt punk kids. they were told to stop several time and played dumb. they were told that as trashed as the house was, they didnt want more destruction because it would be hard to stop once it started going. they by no means were the only ones contributing to the chaos but they were the ones who broke most the windows, who kicked the wall down in the kitchen, knowcked the fridge over, pulled the oven out, kicked bedroom doors in and ultimately beat the shit out of cristian. i dont know their names but i see them around town. look like weak ass motely crue wannabees. white leather jackets. bullet belts. feathered hair. i'd seen them at bonfire lounge earlier in the day and was impressed by their enthusiasm for such a lame aesthetic. and sure as shit they were at this house destroying the place. the argument can be made that laying blame on one person or group would be foolish for such a mess but i know for a fact they were told to stop when they were starting and they should have known better. fuck those guys. they hang out at east end and the tube. it's hard not to wish violence upon them but then again, they look like they could use a beating since these mall-core punky douches are so quick to dish it out.
Check out photos of the fuckedclosure house the day after as well as ones identifying the pizza tag douche-face. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=519070916&albumId=756783
If they didn't want their house to get fucked up further than it already was then why did they have another show? Seems like common sense to me after the shit that happened at the last one

way to stick up for yourselves, pussies. im in favor of this sort of thing happening every weekend. keep up the good work, hooligans.

For anybody to say that this incredible damage was the fault of the kids at the Forclosure House is ridiculous. I'm sure it wasn't Christians idea to get beat up and robbed inside his own home. That's beyond stupid to suggest. It standard for a house to get messy and have a bunch of beer cans laying around, even a broken window can happen from time to time but kicking down walls and appliances and beating a dude up in his own home, 12 firetrucks?! Fuck you to anybody that thinks this is okay or in any way justified.
Not only does this type of behavior discourage people from hosting shows in their homes, it also is going to encourage police to stop dismissing noise complaints, and instead shutting shows down, both of which result in the loss of the DIY music community that is an appealing aspect of our city. Police are often surprisingly understanding of house shows here, but after this incident, their directives are likely to change. Hahaha, also, destruction is just not sustainable. Those windows could be recycled! Come on people! And did I miss the sarcasm on pc-pdx's last comment?
Well said. And did I miss the sarcasm on pc-pdx's last comment? -->SORRY, That was a mistaken repost from "LOL @ U ALL" that i had relocated from the shoutbox to keep it in the thread. I assure you that i would not post that and that our full backing goes to Christian and the Foreclosure house, the DIY community, good logic, common sense and just basic humanity in general.
idiots
Any names or leads would be appreciated.
Firebomb the East End?
With all of your camera phones combined, you couldn't get one shot of the people causing this level of destruction?
I dunno. It was violent and insane but man was it a spectacle. Not knowing anyone involved probably disconnected me a bit but I can't say a part of me didn't enjoy watching a mob form and ignite. Either way it was bonkers tho
The Hauksness photoset entitled Foreclosure House Aftermath is posted in the gallery. Daylight shows how fucked this really is and that we have to never let this happen again. The quote is "if you hear of how to find these guys, please get in touch"
Uh, just got a post from a friend the same crew hit another house last night. waiting on the address of that one. anyone else hear about this?
Maybe there should be a place to send info if you know the people involved.
just for future planning i wouldnt use the word foreclosure on a flyer, especially one that is distributed publicly. it implies foreclosure party. a foreclosure party is when a house is being foreclosed so you trash it. it sucks if that wasnt what you intended but it might be a good idea not to use foreclosure or eviction in a house show flyer
Trashing a house is one thing, beating up the tenant for telling you to chill out is another. If that wasn't obvious, Husker.
fuck stupid party kids ruining the portland music scene. DIE, SCUM.
