ONE GRAND GALLERY and Independent Curators International present the opening of RAYMOND PETTIBON: THE PUNK YEARS, 1978-86, an exhibition of early illustrative work from Pettibon's formative years in the Los Angeles punk scene. Gallery opens at 7PM, show starts at 9PM with local noise-garage act BLOOD BEACH! Donations graciously accepted to help fund the exhibition / performances!

why not celebrate the Pettibon's "punk years" with a punk band? is 'punk' still too scary for the artistically-inclined public? hell, Pettibon's fame largely stems from the Black Flag bars and SST album art. oh well...it's kinda like the Portlandia joke about "put a bird on it," except when applied to music it would be: throw some psychedelia into-the-mix. yawn.
