Dr. Demento Presents: Blues from the Beginning Vollum Lecture Hall Dr. Demento Presents: Blues from the Beginning Before he became "Dr. Demento," Barry Hansen '63 was a blues freak. He had a blues show on KRRC, did research on blues at UCLA, and worked at the legendary Ash Grove folk club in L.A. where he met and introduced to the audience such all time greats as Lightnin' Hopkins, Son House and Mississippi John Hurt. More recently he wrote a book on blues for Rhino Records. He'll tell the story of the genre, how it evolved and how it influenced rock music, with lots of audio and video examples. NOTE: THIS EVENT IS IN VOLLUM LECTURE HALL, NOT THE CHAPEL
