Pat Kearns is a producer/engineer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter best known for his work on the Exploding Hearts' Guitar Romantic and the founding and only continuous member of Blue Skies For Black Hearts. In the past year, he has appeared under his own name, performing a solo residency at Al's Den in Portland as well as opening for James McCartney. Blue Skies For Black Hearts has been recording a new record with a new lineup and will be playing PDX POP NOW! 2013. Sam Regalado is multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter who performs under the stage name “Boscoe’s Brood.” A songwriter at heart, he did free lance compositions for companies like Warner Chappell Music. Upon relocation to California’s Central Valley, he played in popular cover bands before initiating his musical project called “Boscoe’s Brood,” from which in the form of a band, recordings, and solo performances, he displays his music. Sam also holds a Ph.D. in history, is a professor at CSU Stanislaus, a Smithsonian Fellow and authored Viva Baseball, which the San Francisco Chronicle included among its top five best books for 1998. In 2013, his latest book, Nikkei Baseball, and his album, “Space Crazy,” made their appearance. Robert Bruce Burnham is a singer/songwriter/bassist/guitarist who is most recently known to front the now defunct band, The Smokes. In January 2010, his family moved to Butte, MT. Robert and his family attempted to establish roots in the community, but ultimately found the hostile terrain and the strange people surrounding them to be unwelcoming and returned to Portland June 2012. Though the move wasn't productive for the family, it was for Burnham's songwriting. He returned with a stockpile of songs about his struggles in Montana and spent the following year in the studio with Pat Kearns at the controls recording a soon to be released (September 2013) solo album that he titled; Butte, Montana: Sadness on an Incline. The album is strange, atmospheric, cold at times, but extremely soulful. It features some stark performances including Elbows, a song featuring only Burnham's vocal and stomping and clapping. It also includes a few of the last recorded, yet unreleased tracks by The Smokes.
