2 - Beach Party was started by James Hurst and Rob Banks. The two spent the summer of 2012 writing and recording home demos and developing their sound. Sharing a love for all things music, they set out to create a ‘lo-fi’ sound reminiscent of early 60’s garage fueled by the energy of punk music, but with catchy melodies that would make the music appeal to all audiences. Inspired by diverse bands such as the Velvet Underground, the Clash, MC5, and Otis Redding; the two lead vocalists' use ‘call and response’ techniques to complement their melodies and feed off each others energy. By the summer of 2012 they were joined by Nico Macciocca on drums and Adam Arcos on bass and quickly started playing to a wide audience in the Los Angeles and surrounding areas. With a fan base quickly growing and a strong demand for live shows, they have played along side bands such as The Warlocks, Allah-Las, Beachwood Sparks, Lovely Bad Things, Cosmonauts and soon to open for Black Lips for three dates. They have been named the band to watch by NME UK. https://soundcloud.com/beachparty http://wearebeachparty.com/
