Carrie Clark and the Lonesome Lovers set themselves apart from the Northwest music scene with their last release, Seems So Civilized, which helped launch them onto premier stages in San Francisco, Austin, New York, Boston, Phoenix and LA as well as internationally in Belgium, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands. Consistent radio play and a large local following have also garnered them spots in the most renowned venues in Seattle; the Triple Door, Neumos, Sunset Tavern and the Tractor Tavern. Having shared the stage with international acts from Basia Bulat, Mark Olsen (the Jay Hawks), Vagabond Opera and Laura Veirs, the band revels in delivering live shows that are captivating, engaging, and adored by fans and media alike. Alone, Carrie delivers incredibly dynamic alt-country tunes with a hint of nostalgia.
Over the past twelve years, singer-songwriter, Carrie has become a versatile and well respected tour de force in the Seattle music scene, charming audiences with a winsome stage presence and a rangy, delicate voice that travels from power to tenderness in one breath. Her third independent release, Seems So Civilized, features her backing band, The Lonesome Lovers, and production by Toronto's Darryl Neudorf (Neko Case, The Sadies). Seems So Civilized is currently receiving national and international radio play and has been featured on NPR. On this album, Carrie can be found winding her way through an intriguing set of country, blues, and cabaret, displaying a mix of strength and fragility familiar to listeners of her earlier albums, like Release The Butterfly, while also reaching for new horizons of musical growth.
An Oregon native brought up on Willie Nelson, Crystal Gayle, and Johnny Cash, Carrie immersed herself in music at an early age, teaching herself piano and guitar. Her liberal use of diverse musical sounds from country twang to vaudeville swing is unsurprising coming from a singer whose wide-ranging background includes membership in a Belle-and-Sebastian-esque pop band, a folk duo, a reggae band, and a big-band jazz ensemble.
Carrie Clark and the Lonesome Lovers are currently performing regularly along the west coast and will be recording her fourth independent album this spring. Carrie recently returned from her second European tour through Belgium, Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands.
