Hailing from both coasts and the midwest, Earth Anchor is a band founded on a strong DIY ethic with an insatiable enthusiasm to play. They've been described as having 'relatable songs with infections grooves, along with melodies that simply can't be ignored'.
The band rises from the ashes of 'Midnight In Missouri' - a brief project that Kevin Carafa and Heather Steele originally teamed up on in the spring of 2012. The two independently released the 'Outshined' EP in July of 2013 - a four track mashup of 90s and 00s era rock, punk, and post-hardcore - under the name 'Earth Anchor'. Andrew Carreon were later enlisted on drums. Since then, Earth Anchor has played all over Portland in venues such as the Hawthorne Theatre and Ash Street Saloon, neighboring cities such as Vancouver, and cities like San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, and Phoenix.
In February of 2014, the group released their 2nd EP, 'Virtue & Fault', a 5 song release ranging from post-hardcore heaviness to pop punk accessibility.
In March 2015, they released their first full album "Lioness", an album that was likened to Worship and Tribute-era Glassjaw.
