Fire Nuns were born from the charred remains of the South Dakota band The Wax Bananas. Formed while all members were still in high school, the band dazzled small, but rowdy crowds with their unique take on pop fueled garage rock. In March 2013, their debut self-recorded album, 'Dad, Jr.' was released to very positive reactions, one reviewer likening the record to be an impressive mix of the Beatles, 60's nostalgia, various metal bands, and yes, even Euro-pop.

In March 2013, their debut self-recorded album, 'Dad, Jr.' was released to very positive reactions, one reviewer likening the record to be an impressive mix of the Beatles, 60's nostalgia, various metal bands, and yes, even Euro-pop. After deciding that they had exhausted all the possible excitement Midwestern life has to offer, the band packed up the van and relocated to Portland, Oregon in September 2013. After playing only a handful of shows in the area, Fire Nuns have already attracted the attention of many Portlanders, including the music editor of the Portland Mercury, Ned Lannamann. If you live in the Portland area, GO SEE THIS BAND. But don't worry if you don't. Sooner than later, they will be stopping through your city on their first tour.
