Grab The Camera was a metalcore/post-hardcore band from Oregon City/Portland, Oregon, United States.
Grab The Camera is a band from Portland, Oregon. The band was put together by Buddy Powell (vocals) in 2005. Powell just wanted to scream over noise at his high school's battle of the bands. The school caught wind of this and ended up making all the bands try out for the battle. Because of the this GTC was forced to actually write a few songs, at this time the groups name was, "Alternate Ending." The original line up of GTC/AE was Buddy Powell (vocals), Chris Giddings (Guitar), Jared Kirk (Drums), and Louis Cornea (Bass). The band has been trough a few bassist and second guitarist over time, but has managed to keep it's 3 founding/core members.
The new line-up:
The band is Buddy Powell (vocals), Chris Giddings (lead guitar), Jared Kirk (drums/vocals), and Mccary McCutheon (guitar/bass). GTC was still looking for a bassist at the time.
Highlights:
Grab the camera has played many shows over the years, and some of them have been more rewarding then others. For example, GTC has had a blast every time they've played at Reid's Pit Stop in Longview, WA. They have also enjoyed playing the Van's Warped Tour Ernie Ball stage 2 years in a row (2007 and 2008). But the most memorable time playing live for them would have to be the 3rd year they played their high school's battle of the bands and finally won first place! This might seem lame to some bands, but to them it meant the world.
Discography:
So far GTC has released one album, titled "Just Making Memories." This was released on February 16th 2007, but was recorded in October 2006 at Interlace Audio by Kris Crummett. The release is an EP containing 5 songs: (1) No Amour, (2) My body rejected my heart, will you hold on to it for me? (3) You clean up nicely (4) Oh how this ship has sailed and (5) To be continued... The band was set to release a full-length album and book in 2009 called "The Adventures Of Grab The Camera." The album contains 10 all songs plus an audio narration before most or all of the songs.
