2. Plum - A trio from Stargard Szczecinski (POLAND). The band was set up in 1999. In fall 1999 Plum recorded first songs, ep Express..6, which were put out on cassettes by Every Color Production. The main features of its music are uncompromise sound, energy and compositional sensitivity. You can find in it influences of such bands like Jesus Lizard, Girls vs Boys. The album Out Of Confusion 2001 released by Post Post is a development of band's style. It met with good reception of critique, Out Of Confusion encompasses mature, more complex songs, dipped in melancholic atmosphere which becomes dense due to reflective, claustrophobic, full of strain lyrics. The press compares the music from "Out Of..." to Sonic youth. In 2003 Plum laid 70 minutes of its new material down in Obuh (Analogowy Rogalow). Engineered by Wojcek Czern. In 2004 Plum put out recent ep "Unrest" in Europeans Records. The rest of material that was recorded in Obuh Studio was released in November 2005 by Europeans Records and it's called "Nothing Personal". In The same year the band went to Szubin,to Electriceye Studio formed by Kapsa Bros.(ex-Something like elvis). Very good cooperation brought the most intense, harsh stuff, that Plum has ever recorded. Right now the new EP "Sink or Swim"(Every Color Production) is coming out and will be promoting in coming up tour. In november Plum is going to put out LP, called "Witness of your fall" in Gusstaff Records. The material partly known from concerts the band played at that time. Known from concerts, characteristic, dirty, noisy, harsh sound of Plum, which was caught during the session in Electriceye Studio. Dynamic, loud, with big rhythm section refer to essence of noise rock and such bands as Juesus Lizard, Shellac or Oxbow. Just try to sleep in Plum's neverland. However, albums of Plum are great, but foremost They are a live band, their concerts are awesome so the best is to see them live. They have been playing a lot of concerts, next to such bands as Ten Grand, Victims Family, Sunshine, Something Like Elvis, Kristen.. Plum is a part of "PINK PUNK"
3.) Plum, Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, grew up in a 150 year old house in a scarcely populated valley. Music, her dog, and her abundant imagination kept her entertained. At age 3, she started putting music together on the piano, and at age 7 she began recording samples with a toy parrot she was given for Xmas. “I love sampling nature and real sounds. For me, it’s a piece of my life – like a photograph is a visual memory, a sample is an audio memory”
She likes to climb trees. She rides a motorcycle. She can speak at least a little of 10 languages. She has a degree in Communication, and an interest in different people and cultures. Plum likes the little things. Her brother describes her as “dark, mental and childish - but in the nicest possible way”.
“My music often expresses the things I keep to myself, the parts of me that I hide from everyone, so it’s scary sometimes to open up and let people see what’s in there!” Inspired with happy memories of listening to her dad’s records next to the crackling log fire, her mum’s artistic flair, and unique musical influences from a collection of quirky friends, a creative brother and 3 years of travelling, Plum has developed a unique style of music combining heartfelt melodies, dark lyrics and a hint of childhood innocence.
Building on the success of her first EP, Plum's second release is a collection of remixes of the tracks from The Whispering Chamber. What do you get when you commission the talent of several excellent worldwide producers? Listen and find out....
