Realicide (formerly known as Realicide Elixir) were a avant garde/musique concrete experimentation in noise and auxilary torture techniques from Cincinnati, OH formed in 2001. The original line-up included only constant member Robert “Inhuman” Odette on Trombone and shrieks, Johnny Ray Rucker the Third providing lead vocals, and with Mavis Concave and Jason Bowser providing bass and guitar respectively. For their early years the band did not incorporate a drummer, but instead attempted to program a drum machine and samples.
They were known in certain Cincinatti middle school punx circles for their outrageous live performances. Band members would often wear disguises such as masks or magic marker/electrical tape on the face. Rucker was known for his exhibitionistic stage persona where he would often cover his face and body in copious amounts of melted chocolate before proceeding to undress and perform autofellatio on himself. His enigmatic lyrics included many stream of conscience ramblings such as “The smell of flowers / Death / Your pretty face / Death” and “Are you afraid of Death / Are you afraid to die? / I don’t want to lose you / Death”.
After touring the middle school cafeteria breakroom circuit for some time, mostly to unenthusiastic audiences, the band “progressed” to a sound reminscient of a retarded person trying to replicate The Locust without instruments. Robert Odette most assuredly had realized that the band in it’s current form was going nowhere fast, so he remodeled the group to include only himself, Mavis, and the occasional collaborator. He also decided around this time that Justin Pearson was his idol and he would stop at nothing to rip off every one of his many projects in some way.
The band, realizing they could not play them, abandoned all forms of musical instrumentation (including the trombone) in favor of various laptop programs and samplers. In this form, the released ‘Resisiting the Viral Genital Infection’, their attempt at an album, and a data dvd called ‘The Rest of Our Bullshit’ containing gigabytes worth of talentless, half cooked ideas and electronic noise. Realicide toured punk squats and various DIY spaces across the globe, but still went largely unnoticed by everyone except themselves. Realicide’s entire discography (minus the later FMITA reissues) was self-released on Realicide Youth Records due to the general public’s inability to take them seriously.
After several years of obscurity and producing mass amounts of music that almost no one listened to, they decided to call it a day after footage of a highly embarrassing 2002 performance in a school classroom (featuring the original lineup) resurfaced, and was released on 10” vinyl by Fuck Me in the Ass! Records. This was the most attention their band had ever received, and after universal negative criticism across the board, with some even calling it “the worst live performance ever caught on tape” -nme, Robert Inhumane decided to end his experimentation in noise torture and go back to masturbating to midget porn in his mother’s Cincinatti, OH basement.
Odette and ex Realicide vet Johnny Ray Rucker III have started a new project called ‘The Rusty Trombone’ (named after the Skullfukkaz! track they collaborated on) and wrote an album called ‘Chocolate Face’ which will be released later this year on FMITA! Records. The work is said to be a ‘back to basics’ return to da r00tz album for the two, with Robert playing trombone and Johnny reviving his penchant for acting like a fucking lunatic.
