5. An alternative metal band from Los Angeles.
Formed in 1989, the group released one album in 1995, "Psycha", which would have very little promotion, with one of the only known television appearances of Shrine being on a Comedy Central show, with the channel having limited recognition at the time in its own right as it was still a few years away from South Park and The Daily Show. Regardless of its very slight exposure, it would be a cult success, although Shrine would end up disbanding in 1996. Vocalist Xan would become a director under her full name of Alexandra Cassavetes. Bassist Kelly LeMieux would join the popular ska punk band Goldfinger, and later Buckcherry.
