Talent Show is a band originally based in Lincoln, Nebraska whose members consist of Chris Bowling, Dan “Dio” Moreno, and Danny Lindsay. Their music walks the line between jangly indie pop and laid-back surf rock. The band was formed in early 2018 and included the three current members as well as a fourth member named Nolan Sullivan, seen depicted in the art for their self-titled single. They would play multiple shows around the Lincoln & Omaha local music scene throughout much of 2018. By late 2018, the band began playing shows across the greater Nebraska and Iowa area and soon planned a tour that would span the Midwest and East Coast. In early 2019, the band released “Talent Show,” a single that consisted of the song “Half A Press,” one of the first songs the band had written, and the B-Side “Subrosa,” a live show favorite. The band also relocated to Omaha at this time as all members now lived in the city. Talent Show continued playing shows primarily around Lincoln and Omaha in 2019 and would release the EP “Nerves” in the Summer of 2019. Nerves consisted of 3 songs, the introspective “How Could I?,” the titular track “Nerves,” and the balmy ballad “Heatwave.” They would play at the festival Lincoln Calling in 2019 where they would debut more tracks they had been creating over the year. In February 2020, Danny would move to Chicago, IL and, not long after, the COVID-19 Pandemic began, causing Talent Show to go on an extended hiatus. During this time, music would be written but recording proved troublesome to coordinate between the 4. Nolan left the band during this time. After nearly three years of being “in the lab,” so to speak, the band would begin prepping to release their first LP “Provider” in late July 2022 by releasing a series of singles. “Newman” would be released on July 12th, 2022, followed by “Topo Chico” on July 15th 2022 and “Labor of Love” on July 22nd 2022. “Provider” released on July 25th 2022.
