In 2002, Cap'n James Cook (Lead singer) was looking for an outlet for a ton of old-time jazz and folk songs he knew, so he gathered some friends up in his basement and formed Trashcan Joe. Since then they've written a bunch of their own tunes and now have an entire CD full of them, "Real Life". Trashcan Joe plays every Wednesday at the "The Moon and Sixpence" in Portland, OR.
