Two are British bands, one is a Swiss band, one is an Icelandic new-wave band, one is a Japanese band and an Australian band from Melbourne.
And then there is Box from Rune Grammofon:
A supergroup collaborative project from the mighty Rune Grammofon, Box was conceived by writer and filmmaker Philip Mullarkey as an interdisciplinary art and film project. The musicians he recruited are some of improv's leading lights from across the globe, including Scorch Trio guitarist Raoul Bjorkenheim, John Zorn and Fantomas bass player Trevor Dunn, Supersilent/Humcrush synthesizer maestro Stale Storlokken and one-time Frank Zappa collaborator Morgan Agren on drums. With that sort of improvisational royalty on board this was always bound to be a pretty full-on listening experience, and sure enough the quartet blast through pan-generic free music with an exhausting virtuosity and gusto.
British "Box"
Box formed in Tunbridge Wells (UK) in late 1999. They have released material via cassette/CDR and have appeared on Unlabel's UN17 and UN23 compilation CD's. Chris Butler (guitar/bass) now also plays bass in Charlottefield, and Luke Woodgate (drums) plays guitar in Headquarters.
The two preview tracks available on this last fm page ("suicide donner" & "awesome dip session") are by the British band Box.

They've created their sound by incorporating many different genres of music, including house, trip-hop, drum&bass and jazz fusion. They have a concept reminiscent of (though not in any way copying) Dave Douglas' "The Infinite" band. The Box has a recording on the Swiss label, Altisuoni called BRUCH, released in 2008.
