In 2013, Cicada began to compose for Taiwan. The theme of “Coastland” was the west coastland, and “Light Shining Through the Sea” was inspired by the east coast and the Pacific Ocean.

In 2013, Cicada began to compose for Taiwan. The theme of “Coastland” was the west coastland, and “Light Shining Through the Sea” was inspired by the east coast and the Pacific Ocean. “White Forest” released in 2017 drew inspiration from marine life such as humpback whales, dolphins, coral reefs and sea turtles. Cicada walked into the mountain from the ocean on their 10th year and released the hiking journal “Hiking in the Mist”. In 2022, their focus switched to the valleys and forests. “Seeking the Sources of Streams” comprised moments of roaming the mountains.

2) Formed in 1992 in Auckland, New Zealand. They released 1 EP in 1994 and an album in 1997. Though ostensibly a guitar-based rock band they use a wide range of technologies - both modern and 'outdated' - to achieve a distinctive and often ethereal sound.

4) Cicada is a British electronic music group. Members include producers Aaron Gilbert (a.k.a. Mr. Natural), Alex Payne and several guest vocalists including Tom Smith from Editors, Heidrun Bjornsdottir, Ben Onono, Max Berlin, Bjorn from Pacific! and most recently Fleur East, Megan Quashie, Joel Pott and Shahin Badar.
They released several critically acclaimed singles throughout 2005 and 2006, including "The Things You Say" and "Cut Right Through" (both of which Feature vocals by Geordie singer Jennifer Lamb), and "Electric Blue". They have also done remixes for Depeche Mode, New Order, Chicane, Dannii Minogue, LeAnn Rimes, Client, Blu Mar Ten and The Veronicas, and many more.
Their debut album, Cicada, was released in summer 2006 on Critical Mass Records. Their second album Roulette, was released in 2009, and included the songs "Falling Rockets" (which is used in The Big Bang Theory), "Metropolis", "Psycho Thrills" and "One Beat Away". Cicada's third album Sunburst was released in August 2011 and includes the singles "Fast Cars", "Your Love" and "Come Together". Their song "Don't Stare At the Sun" is used in a commercial for Revlon featuring Jessica Biel.
As of June 2016, Cicada are on hiatus.
5) A Nigerian band recently featured on Soundway's excellent 'The World Ends: Afro Rock & Psychedelia In 1970s Nigeria' record.
6) The Japanese band, CICADA, is a 5 piece Japanese Electronic, Hip-hop/Trip-hop band led by the vocalist Akiko Kido. As of 2016, they have released 2 full albums: 'BED ROOM' (2015) and 'formula' (2016). They have also released an EP titled 'Loud Colors' (2016), along with other minor releases since 2012.
