Death Punch brings society to life through punk rock
Los Angeles, CA – Death Punch’s message comes through loud and clear with the energetic new punk anthem “Blood, Sweat & Beers” featured on the new EP “A Dying Breed”
“Death Punch is a band driven by an open and honest view of society that is brought to existence through punk rock,” exclaims one member of Death Punch. “The sound of Death Punch is a message of day-to-day life, struggle, hope, partying and politics.”
The scope of Death Punch’s songwriting brings it into contact with everything from social commentary to a look at the sheer thrills and hurdles of existence. The song “Blood, Sweat & Beers” is the perfect example of Death Punch’s punk rock rollick through the slings and arrows of life. The song is up-front and chock full of rowdy rock power to keep the listener jacked up and revving to go. “Blood, Sweat & Beers” ultimately is about the sense of accomplishment from facing life and its challenges and carrying on the punk rock torch. Overcoming is a central issue for Death Punch.
Death Punch’s lyrics and music are delivered with “aggression and absolute attitude,” brags the band. The group stays loyal to its central ideals while finding new ways to expand and grow from song to song. “The music that flows through Death Punch is heavily influenced by the heart and soul.” The band has been together for seven years, making music that reflects the punk ethos while avoiding formulaic punk rock expression.
The new album “A Dying Breed” is set to be released in Spring 2010. The band’s previous release was "Is This The End?". The more recent music, says Death Punch, is beefed up with a dual guitar attack that brings the band’s sound to a new step of evolution.
Death Punch has played House of Blues, The Whisky A Go Go, The Roxy, The Key Club, The Showcase Theatre, The Knitting Factory, B.B. King’s Blues Club, The Slidebar and has shared the stage with The Casualties, Cheap Sex, Strung Out, Pulley, Agent Orange, The Dickies, D.I., Total Chaos, The Angry Samoans, Smut Peddlers and ADHD. Death Punch made its second appearance this year on the Vans Warped Tour!
