Falling Closer was a post-hardcore band from West Linn/Portland, Oregon, United States.
Falling Closer are no strangers to the rock scene that surrounds them. Starting out as a side project in April of 2004, Chris Hauraque, Jon Johnson, Dave Keller, and Kyle Baltus got together and began jamming out music. It was apparent to the friends that Falling Closer was something special. The writing and recording ensued and in January of 2005, Face To Face With A New Day was released. The band toured relentlessly on the West Coast and in Oregon to create a local buzz. “It was important to us that we did this the right way” says Jon Johnson, guitarist of Falling Closer. “We Knew that the music we were creating was something important to us and we wanted to share it with the world, but we had to start with baby steps.” After a number of shows and tours, Falling Closer settled in to write again. The result was The EP, a contagious hard rock album laden with melodies to win over the crowds. From there Falling Closer headed back out on the road. “Even though we had just finished writing, we felt like we had more music to share, so we went back into the studio.” After a year on the road, the band have locked themselves away from the world to focus on their writing. “Music is our lives. We plan on writing another record and heading back out on the road as soon as we are done. Falling Closer is just getting started…” proclaims Jon. After that they released their 2009 album The Sweet Release.
