They released "Black Flame of Unholy Hate" demo in 1995. Shortly after the demo was released, Black Christ left Funeral to focus on Blessed in Sin. In 1996, Funeral was featured on a split demo with Osculum Infame which featured Xaphan on vocals and Amaobscuradeo from Blessed in Sin on session keyboards. At some point after the split demo was released, Xaphan and Black Christ, along with 2 other people were arrested for exhuming the corpse of Yvonne Foin and planting a crucifix into her heart.
Only Hades remained in Funeral. The band later became known as Kristallnacht in 1997 and Kristallnacht was featured on a split tape with Morke in that year. Hades briefly went by Herr Wolf before settling on L.F., his initials. Throughout 1999-2002, Kristallnacht released a few EPs and compilation albums as well as being featured on another split release with Seigneur Voland and Blessed in Sin before splitting-up in 2002 due to L.F. evolving his ideology from NS to a satanic-oriented one.
Funeral reunited in 2024 and released "Opus Satani Excelsi" a year later, featuring the original line-up from "Black Flame of Unholy Hate" including two session musicians.
