Wailing vocals and complex chord structures were now supplanted with soaring melodies and inspirational lyrics. The newly branded “The Current” is an evolution of the worship sound.
After spending months recording in Nashville, the hub of Christian Contemporary music, “The Current” has crafted a stunning debut EP “New Colors”, much in the vein of Augustana and Needtobreath. The record blends traditional folk and rock elements with a spacious electric atmosphere, inviting listeners into a truly immersive experience.
“The Current”, as they are so aptly christened, is a project that is in constant forward motion. The newest single “I Choose To Love”; co-written and produced by Hawk Nelson front man Jon Steingard, delivers a message of bold adoration that dwells with listeners across the spectrum of Christian faith. From the beginning, the purpose of “The Current” has stayed the same; no matter the differences between believers may be; we are united by our faith in God.
As the taste of modern music changes, “The Current” creates songs that speak to this generation. The growth of the band is exponential; gathering fans from across the nation, and eventually around the world. It is fair to say that “The Current” will be making waves for a long time to come.
