There are several projects named Brides. 1) A progressive post-hardcore band from Brighton, England, United Kingdom 2) A queer southern gothic rock band from London, England.
1) Brides was a progressive post-hardcore band from Brighton, England, United Kingdom.
A striking and highly dynamic blend of punk, prog, post-hardcore and straight up rock, Brides draw as much influence from Hot Water Music and A Wilhelm Scream as they do from Mew or Dire Straits, confidently overlaying styles usually kept separate to create an elaborate yet accessible concoction.
Though only 18 months young, Brighton crossover quartet BRIDES are shaping up as one of the UK's most intriguing new bands. Since their formation in May 2007, the band have already shared stages with the likes of A Wilhelm Scream, Gallows, Architects, Devil Sold His Soul and Your Demise, Brides’ own eclectic musical character allowing them to simultaneously fit their feet to any bill whilst standing out as bold and unique.
A striking and highly dynamic blend of punk, metal, prog, post hardcore and straight up rock, Brides draw as much influence from Hot Water Music and A Wilhelm Scream as they do from Mew or Misery Signals, confidently overlaying styles usually kept separate to create an elaborate yet accessible concoction.
But now the time has come for Brides to take the next step. Along with the recent recruitment of long time friend Max D’Albiac into the lead vocalist position, Brides have hooked up with Visible Noise Records (Bring Me The Horizon, Lostprophets, Bullet For My Valentine) for the release of their debut mini-album Ocular.Unveil.
Boasting Brides’ trademark duelling vocals and a positive slew of ambition and honesty, Ocular.Unveil was produced and recorded at Outhouse Studios, Reading by John Mitchell and Ben Humphreys (Youmeatsix, Architects, Enter Shikari) and will see a nationwide release via Visible Noise in early 2009.
Open up your eyes and ears.

2) Brides are a queer southern gothic rock band from London, UK. They have been active since 2022.
The band take influence from artists such as Orville Peck, Nick Cave, Black Sabbath, and The Kills, as well as gothic literature, alternative films, and tales of the macabre.
Their first single ‘This Ain’t Right’, inspired by the indie horror movie ‘The Witch’ was released in 2022, and was followed in February 2024 with 'Eat Dirt' - a bluesy rock n roll song, based on the myth of Icarus, about a relationship that burns too hot.
Find them on all streaming sites and Bandcamp.
