Monsters
There are multiple bands with this name: 1) Monsters are a deathcore band from Chicago, Illinois. Formed in 2008 and featuring members from Jerome and future members of Oceano, Monsters played a part in influencing the bouncy, chug heavy style of deathcore many bands in the Chicago and broader deathcore scene would take on. They broke up in 2011, but have since reformed in 2025 and are continuing their reign as a Chicago deathcore icon.     • grin hound [ grin hound is set to go out on their can't hang tour of the pacific north west this august. the band is promoting new material in preparation to record the upcoming ep "doo slop", a red in tooth and claw punk rock & roll commentary on the relationships between possession, dissociation and embodying the monsters that live inside every human. the band released a promotional video for the tour containing a preview of their new song "werewolf", a raw rhythmic punch in the face of witch cackles and wolf howls. led by bat st. chip and supported on drums by tyler tonkin, grin hound's live shows are a high velocity roller coaster. the songs expose a monstrous soul maniacally crashing about dark melodies to party punk. grin hound put out the ep “knock ma” last summer and it was called one of the most exciting releases to come out of southern oregon that year. ]

    Best Band PDX 2009 Poll - we fixed our mistake

    As i'm sure everybody knows, We're hosting the Best Band PDX 2009 poll on the Show-Guide.. Our friend MIKE informed us that when you hit the [Enter] key on the keyboard after typing in a band - the #1 band gets a vote rather than the band that was manually typed in... That means that The Closet Monsters' vote count is unnaturally high and they didn't really get as many votes as are now counted.. We've thought about the best way to handle this and consulted some good people to help figure this one out.. What we've decided to do is to NOT start the survey over but rather delete the bad count for The Closet Monsters.
