In January of 2007 the indie pop trio began playing in and around Portland, Oregon. In the following year the band recorded it's debut album, Paper Brain, at GAS House Studios, releasing the album that fall. The album drew comparisons to early Pavement and was touted as earnest, straighforward, melodic and melancholy. In 2008 Paper Brain headed back into the studio and added bass player Duncan Galvin to the mix. Joining forces with producer/engineer Shay Scott at Klickitat Band Camp the band recorded it's sophomore album, Ain't Nobody Cares. With the release of Ain't Nobody Cares the band began to solidify it's status as a staple of the Portland music scene. Prior to the album's release in April of 2009 Adam Zavala left the band and was replaced by drummer Phil Orchard. The band will return to KBC and once again team up with Shay Scott in September of 2009 to begin recording their third album.
