The story of a resurrection. Or maybe we've been here all along. Consisent with the past but pushing forever forward into the uncharted, we are proud to have created 10 new songs with the aid of Mr Tim Green at Louder Studios. The story of a resurrection. Or maybe we've been here all along. Consisent with the past but pushing forever forward into the uncharted, we are proud to have created 10 new songs with the aid of Mr Tim Green at Louder Studios. A purist analog approach from cradle to grave, more spontaneous than planned, gives this set of songs a very unique character and feel and seems to have done well to capture the sounds that are currently bounding around in our collective heads. Sounds almost as good as we've imagined it. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Tim Green. Walking Boss is planned for self promoted release to bandcamp and other digital stores October 31, 2013. Tourette's Class, a song from the new record has been put up on last.fm prior to the release. All previous recordings can be found on porch.bandcamp.com and through itunes and other digital means through itunes and others. A new website for us will be live when Walking Boss releases at http://www.porch-noise.com. In terms of description, we have learned to relish in the fact that Porch is difficult to characterize and define in a musical world that is ever trying harder to do so. As has always been consistent for us, we prefer to reference others descriptions of the music we create rather than concoct our own : "Phew! we will not wait 17 years for them to release a new album, it would have been a pity also to wait that long. Guitarist/vocalist Todd Huth was part of the original Primus along with follow on projects Sausage and Les Claypool's Fearless Frog Brigade. Bassist Christopher Frey came from Today Is The Day and original drummer David Ayer beat it for Samiam before being replaced by Michael Jacobs in 1998. Michael now also plays with San Francisco's Brookhaven. Our background led us to some local press early on and a deal with Jello Biafra's label Alternative Tentacles Records. With a self-titled EP in 1993, Mammoth Records came through and put out their full-length the following year, appropriately titled "Porch". Years past and Porch continued on for many years with only Todd and Michael after Chris moved to Nashville. The initial reunion with Chris in 2011 forged Givin Up, a seven song collection recorded at Justin Millar's Ausgang Audio (Petaluma, Ca.) with the band & Mr. Eli Crews at New, Improved Recording (Oakland, Ca.) at the controls and released in May 2011. Since then, local shows, writing and logistics have been the focus, figuring out how to make our distributed effort work with Chris still in Nashville and Todd and Michael in the Bay Area.
