René Pawlowitz (born 1975) is a German Berlin-based DJ and producer, better known under his techno moniker Shed. Pawlowitz also performs under various under aliases including WAX (techno), Hoover1 (breakbeat hardcore / jungle), Evil Fred (UK funky), and Head High (house). René Pawlowitz was born in 1975 in the East German town of Frankfurt/Oder and grew up in Schwedt/Oder. He started producing music in the 1990s. René Pawlowitz was born in 1975 in the East German town of Frankfurt/Oder and grew up in Schwedt/Oder. He started producing music in the 1990s. In 2002, he moved to Berlin and founded his own label Soloaction Records, where he released his first EP Red Planet Express as Shed in 2004. His debut album Shedding the Past was named the album of the year 2008 by Resident Advisor.

(2): Shed started activities in late 1998. After months performing in small clubs, they recorded 'We're The Dogs' (1999), playing festivals, MTV shows and opened for Garage Fuzz, Pin Ups, Superchunk and Shelter. In 2000, they met Cesar Carpanez (Highlight Sounds label), who offered them to release 'Now Available In Stereo' in 2001. Later, they toured many cities and played with Backyard Babies (Sweden) and Flatcat (Belgium).
(3) Debuting their first single "Poured Out" in March of 2018, Brisbane-based band Shed, composed of members Gene Mason, Jodan Longfield, and Kellie Murphy, went on to release their first studio album "Terrestrial Stress" in May of 2018.
